Who You Are You are a dedicated and flexible Social Worker with a focus on fostering and recruitment, aiming to support foster carers in Carmarthenshire. You possess the ability to work collaboratively within the Fostering Service, adapting to changing needs and contributing to the recruitment and retention of carers. Your understanding of legislative requirements and best practices in child care informs your work, enabling the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. You are committed to supporting foster carers through supervision and identifying training and development needs. What the Job Involves Your role includes supporting a caseload of approved foster carers and connected individuals by providing guidance and supervision to ensure service compliance with national standards. You will conduct annual reviews, participate in team meetings, and liaison with children’s social workers. Your responsibilities also include assessing foster carers' families' needs, particularly the impacts on the foster carers' children, and coordinating support as necessary. You will also engage in completing quality-assured Form F assessments, recruiting, training, and supporting new carers, and ensuring smooth communication within the Fostering Service and with external agencies.
