Family Support Worker / Early Help Practitioner
Summary
* The Family Support Worker / Early Help Practitioner is a vital role within a local authority, offered on a 3-month contract. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, child-focused early help interventions to children, young people, and families. The primary aim is to provide timely and tailored support to prevent the need for escalation to statutory services.
Responsibilities
* Complete comprehensive whole-family assessments using the organisation’s assessment and planning framework.
* Develop high-quality SMART plans in collaboration with children, young people, and families.
* Identify strengths, needs, risks, and desired outcomes for each family.
* Ensure the child’s voice and best interests remain central to all planning and decision-making.
Essential Experience
* Experience providing support to children, young people, and families with complex or emerging needs.
* Experience conducting assessments and delivering targeted family interventions.
* Experience coordinating multi-agency support and partnership working.
* Experience keeping accurate case records and working within safeguarding frameworks.
Essential Qualifications
* Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Social Care, Youth Work, Education, Health, or a related field.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development.

* Working hours: 36 hours per week

* The role requires an enhanced DBS.
* Payment schedule: Bi-weekly
