A leading engineering organisation in Milton Keynes is looking for a Supply Chain Team Lead to oversee the end-to-end movement of goods in a fast-paced, technically complex environment. This is a key operational and analytical role, bridging day-to-day execution with strategic supply chain optimisation.
You will lead a team of four, responsible for order management, goods in/out, and warehouse optimisation, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and efficient flow of materials that directly supports production and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management & Material Flow
* Oversee daily supply chain operations, including receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to ensure uninterrupted production.
SAP ECC Leadership
* Act as a Key User for SAP ECC, maintaining planning parameters (safety stocks, lead times) and ensuring high data integrity across MM (Materials Management) and WM (Warehouse Management) modules.
Analytical Oversight & Reporting
* Produce and interpret KPI reports covering inventory accuracy, supplier on-time delivery, freight costs, and operational efficiency to identify trends and bottlenecks.
Logistics & Customs Compliance
* Manage relationships with 3PL partners and customs brokers, ensuring accurate international trade documentation, regulatory compliance, and timely customs clearance.
Continuous Improvement
* Lead Lean initiatives and process improvements to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and enhance supply chain responsiveness and resilience.
Team Leadership
* Lead, develop, and motivate a team of four across order management, goods in/out, and warehouse optimisation within a busy, compact engineering environment.
Required Skills & Experience
Background:
* 5+ years in supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership position.
Systems & Technical Skills:
* Strong experience with SAP ECC, particularly MM, PP, and SD modules.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Trade & Logistics Knowledge:
* Solid understanding of HS codes, trade laws, customs processes, and international logistics strategies.
Analytical Capability:
* Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify risks, and develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.
Microsoft Office Proficiency:
* Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
