Job Description
1. Finance Function Transformation
3. Assess current team structure (22 people) and define target operating model
4. Drive improved performance, accountability, and outputs
5. Identify inefficiencies and lead potential restructure / downsizing
6. Address capability gaps and performance issues decisively
2. Systems Optimisation
7. Fully embed and optimise Microsoft Business Central
8. Drive adoption and efficiency (current underutilisation)
9. Partner with internal Digital, Data & Tech team (strong capability in place)
3. Leadership & Culture
10. Build a high-performance culture
11. Coach and develop existing leadership
12. Manage difficult conversations and exits where required
13. Reduce over-reliance on key individuals
4. Strategic & Commercial Impact
14. Support development of the 5-year plan
15. Provide strong commercial insight and challenge
16. Partner closely with senior leadership, including incoming Treasurer
17. Improve finance's influence across the organisation
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
18. Break down silos, particularly with Fundraising
19. Enable better data, insight, and financial support for growth initiatives
The Successful Applicant
Essential Experience
20. Proven number 1 in finance / transformation leader
21. Strong experience in team restructuring and performance turnaround
22. Ability to operate at pace and influence a high-performing exec team
23. Experience in Charity / SORP accounting
24. Strong systems mindset (Business Central desirable, not essential)
Desirable
25. Exposure to fundraising-led organisations
26. Experience working with Dynamics CRM
27. Commercial/entrepreneurial mindset within a not-for-profit environment
