As an Associate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering environmentally responsive, high-performance buildings and shaping the next generation of engineering talent. You will be responsible for leading a range of projects with support from the wider acoustics team and Atelier Ten network.
What your day-to-day looks like
We work across various projects, with specialties in cultural and performance venues, education, and low-carbon design. We promise to keep you challenged and engaged. Here are some typical tasks:
1. Delivering technical excellence
* Lead acoustic-only projects or participate in multidisciplinary teams through all design phases, from concept to completion, with awareness of other disciplines.
* Coordinate effectively between internal disciplines and external consultants.
* Ensure technical quality, compliance, performance, and consistency across all outputs.
* Prepare and review design deliverables including 3D models, drawings, schematics, schedules, reports, and specifications.
1. Leading climate-positive design
* Champion sustainable and climate-positive outcomes.
* Apply your acoustic engineering expertise to deliver innovative, efficient, and environmentally responsible solutions.
* Align project outputs with our ethos of elegance, environmental sensitivity, and technical excellence.
2. Growing and inspiring a high-performing team
* Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and leadership.
* Contribute to recruitment, team development, and fostering a collaborative culture.
* Promote technical excellence and continuous learning.
3. Building strong client relationships and industry presence
* Act as a key liaison for clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and developing long-term relationships.
* Represent Atelier Ten at industry events and forums to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
* Collaborate with the UK network to share knowledge and improve project outcomes.
* Assist in producing fee proposals, including additional services and fees.

* At least eight years of experience in a design consultancy or engineering practice.
* Deep technical knowledge in building acoustics, up-to-date with industry best practices.
* Experience leading projects, managing budgets, timelines, and quality.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to inspire clients and teams.
* A passion for sustainable design and climate-positive outcomes.
* A proactive, autonomous approach—someone who makes things happen, solves problems, and takes ownership.
* The ability to prioritize and think strategically about project delivery.
* Ability to identify resource requirements.
