Description We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the procurement of a significant main works package for an upcoming “design and build” construction project, with potential to grow into a future role on the main construction works. As the Project Manager, you will support the Preconstruction and Design Lead in the procurement and onboarding of the main works contractor, and other supporting subcontract packages, for the design and build of a significant new facility. These activities will need to ensure that successful procurement of contractors takes into consideration that the works will be taking place in a highly regulated environment, in close proximity to a number of key stakeholders and must ensure that the successful companies are competent to operate in this environment. You will manage the input of specialist stakeholders and commercial colleagues to ensure a transparent and fair tender process, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement best practice. This role is based remotely, with some flexibility on when and how often visits to site are made. The role is primarily a full-time role, but this can be discussed. Candidates must be able to obtain security clearance. Responsibilities Responsibilities Lead the development of the main works scope for the design and build of the new facility. Assist with the procurement, selection and onboarding of contractors and subcontractors to complete the work scopes. Once a main contractor has been awarded the contract, you will be responsible for the onboarding and mobilisation of the contractor, this will include but not be limited to, the development of the construction phasing, logistics, laydown areas, stakeholder interface and construction planning works, as well as design related activities. Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability Policies, processes and statutory requirements as they affect the project’s operations and ensure that the tender process and design reflect these. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential Experience at a similar level on a major project or in a highly regulated environment. Demonstrable experience of procurement/tender processes for significant contract or subcontract packages. Experience managing subcontract packages, including programme and commercial aspects. Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practice. IT competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system). Desirable Experience working in a nuclear environment. NEC3/4 contract experience. Qualifications Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in Civil Engineering or project management (or equivalent experience) LI-MF1
