Job overview Are you a ED Registrar/middle grade looking to work in an energetic and welcoming emergency department (ED) in one of the most beautiful cities in the UK? You do not need to be in training but need to be able to work as the most senior clinician overnight in the ED in the UK. Applicants should hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCEM, MRCP, MRCS, FRCA or equivalent), and should be ST4 or equivalent, having completed a minimum of 3 years in approved SHO posts (Post Foundation Medicine) or equivalent in relevant acute specialities including at least 1 year in Emergency Medicine. Advert Working in the ED with direct shop floor supervision from our 20 consultants, 1 consultant nurse, alongside 9 experienced ED middle grades, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners and 30 SHOs. The post offers protected weekly departmental teaching and benefits from educational supervision by a consultant as well as many other educational opportunities on shift. A typical day may see you involved in Stroke Thrombolysis, PPCI for STEMI, Major Trauma (as a busy trauma unit) and Acute Paediatrics as well as Minor Injuries. We use self rostering but need to provide cover at middle grade level 24/7. Detailed job description and main responsibilities You would be joining the senior ED team working on a full shift rota using self-rostering. A full-time equivalent full shift rota is a maximum of 42 hours per week with 1 in 3 weekend cover. You will be supported by another 8 middle grade doctors who also provide 24/7 cover as well as 30 SHOs and 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
