University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Perioperative Medicine Team as a Trainee Clinical Exercise Physiologist. This role involves assisting in conducting clinical cardiopulmonary exercise tests to prepare patients for surgery.
Our team assesses, educates, and supports patients scheduled for major surgery from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The service operates Monday to Friday, serving over 1000 patients annually. Responsibilities
Coordinate and perform cardiopulmonary exercise testing for patients referred to the Perioperative Medicine Service. Support senior physiologists and contribute to the operational management of the CPET laboratory.
Experience/Skills
Applicants should hold a BSc in Physiological Sciences (such as Sport, Exercise, or Health Sciences, Clinical or Sport Physiology), with experience and knowledge of exercise physiology. Physical fitness is necessary due to the demands of the clinic, including prolonged standing and PPE use.

Previous or Relevant Experience

* Experience interacting with patients face-to-face or via telephone
