Role Purpose
To assist the Senior Operations and management team with day‑to‑day management of field and site‑based IT engineers; be a point of escalation for issues and proactively develop efficiency and improvements. The Site Lead provides leadership to the team and actively participates in the management and development of the staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage resources to ensure adequate cover is maintained to deliver the existing support requirements within the allocated cost structure.
* Conduct regular visits to regional sites where SCC staff are located.
* Encourage and support staff with personal development and training requirements.
* Work with the Field Delivery Manager and Management team to review and improve area performance against contractual SLA, working within the KPI parameters set.
* Generate management information – notably daily reports on previous day’s performance and add to the weekly/daily reports.
* Serve as the first point of the escalation process and actively manage this whilst escalating to line management when required.
* Daily monitor and manage customer SLA in the area.
* Proactively identify areas for improvement both internally and externally.
* Maintain personal and professional development to meet the constant changes of the role, participating in appropriate training activities provided by SCC.
* Undertake duties, training and/or hours of work as the business requirement dictates and of which are consistent with the expected level of responsibility of the role.
* Check and verify overtime and expenses within company guidelines.
* Monitor and manage the quick win process within the team.
* Actively participate in the disciplinary process when required.
* Manage the PDR process, sickness, annual leave and training requirements of the team in line with business objectives.
* Ensure all reports are working in line with company policies and procedures.
* Be compliant with management system policies, company policies & guidelines and take responsibility for health & safety in the workplace.
* Respond to any requests for information from line management in a timely manner.
* Carry out any other reasonable request from line management.
* Work a certain amount of overtime when required.
* Be familiar with all SCC policies and processes relevant to the role and/or your responsibilities to SCC and our customers.
* Be familiar with customer policies and processes where applicable.
Skills and Experience
* Always be professional and presentable.
* Possess a full UK driving licence where required to perform the role (customer‑specific).
* Possess excellent customer‐facing skills.
* Have the ability to multitask, be flexible and work in a dynamic environment.
* Have proven ability to develop people and teams, creating a culture of self‑development.
* Have proven ability to lead a team through change whilst increasing efficiency.
* Able to communicate effectively with engineers, managers and other stakeholders.
* Ability to understand detailed data and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Knowledge level required to understand the technical aspects of engineering support.
* Possess strong organisational and time‑management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Required to obtain the Government and/or Police Security levels required to meet the operational requirements of the role (no caveats) and as per the requirements stipulated in relevant customer contracts.
* Will be required to be self‑motivated with good organisational skills and can work unsupervised.
* Already possess or can obtain relevant technical certifications where required.
* Demonstrate at least the CompTIA A+ qualification or have the equivalent knowledge/experience where required.
* Have the ability to work at height and undertake varied manual handling activities as required.
