We’re seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-on-one support to a child with special educational needs (SEN) in a welcoming primary school in Colchester. This full-time role offers the exciting potential to become permanent for the right candidate!

About the Role
As an LSA, you’ll work closely with a child with SEN, supporting their learning journey in and outside the classroom. You’ll collaborate with the class teacher and wider team to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment that helps the child build confidence and reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support tailored to the child’s learning needs
Encourage social and emotional development through positive interaction
Adapt learning materials under the guidance of the class teacher
♂️ Help maintain a calm, focused, and inclusive classroom environment
Promote independence by developing communication and problem-solving skills
Work closely with the SENCo, teachers, and parents to track and support progress
Share feedback on the child’s development and well-being when appropriate
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or SEN pupils (desirable, not essential)
❤️ A compassionate, patient, and approachable nature
Strong communication skills with both children and adults
Flexibility and pro activity in adapting to the child’s needs
A Level 2/3 TA qualification is a bonus, but not a requirement
A positive outlook and a great sense of humour!
