The Southport office forms part of a dynamic and ambitious Top 100 accountancy firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality service to a diverse client base. The office works closely with owner-managed businesses (OMBs), offering full general practice support across accounts and tax. With a dedicated team of 15–20 professionals and access to the wider group’s specialist tax expertise, the office provides both a personal, local touch and the strength of national resources.
This year, the firm has moved into a brand-new office space to support its growth plans, with an objective to double fee revenue in the coming years.
The Opportunity
The firm is seeking an experienced and driven Client Director to join its Southport office with a clear progression path to become the successor to the Head of Office.
Over a 2–3 year integration period, the successful candidate will gain a deep understanding of the office’s clients, team, and processes. The firm will invest in their leadership development, supporting them to become the future leader of the office, managing both the day-to-day operations and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the Southport office and lead a team of 15–20 professionals.
* Mentor, develop, and inspire colleagues to achieve their full potential.
Client & Business Development
* Manage and grow a varied portfolio of OMB clients across accounts and tax.
* Act as a trusted adviser, delivering high-quality service and proactive advice.
* Drive new business initiatives, leveraging both local networks and the wider firm’s resources.
Technical Excellence
* Collaborate with the specialist tax department on complex technical queries.
* Ensure compliance and high standards across all client work.
Strategic Growth
* Contribute to the firm’s ambitious growth plans, with a focus on doubling fee revenue.
* Play a key role in shaping the future of the Southport office.
Candidate Profile
* ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in general practice.
* Proven track record of managing client portfolios, ideally within OMBs.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
* Commercially minded with the ability to generate and convert new business.
* Ambitious, driven, and ready to step into a leadership role.
