Externally funded by Roche for 2 years, we have an exciting new opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Management team. Working closely with the Multiple Sclerosis team, the Specialist MS Pharmacy Technician will play a key role in supporting the delivery, monitoring, and optimisation of disease‑modifying therapies (DMTs) for patients with Multiple Sclerosis across UHS, strengthening the Trust’s capacity to deliver safe, timely, and equitable access to an expanding range of MS treatments.
Job Summary
Provide specialist clinical Pharmacy Technician advice to the MS service at UHS (Externally funded for 2 years).
General Duties
* Providing medicines management service to the MS service.
* Supporting the prescribing, supply, and monitoring processes for MS DMTs supplied by Homecare.
* Acting as a point of contact for patients and carers regarding DMT queries and treatment pathways, including those received via My Medical Record and the MS team email inbox; providing specialist advice, education, and counselling to patients commencing or continuing DMTs.
* Responsible for supporting service improvement, conducting audits, evaluation, and development, and actively identifying areas of service improvement.
Requirements
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
* Accreditation in Medicines Management or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT).
* Accreditation in or evidence of training in Patient counselling.
* Full‑time post (37.5 hours per week).
* Weekend working commitment of 1 in 6 to support patient care, either at ward level or in the dispensary.
* Late night working commitment one day per week on alternate weeks.
