We are looking for an experienced and proactive Site Agent to lead the delivery of a technically challenging infrastructure scheme involving the replacement of bearings and a joint over a live railway line. This role will oversee works across both rail and highway interfaces, ensuring safety, programme, and quality targets are achieved while maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
·Take full site responsibility for delivering bearing and joint replacement works in a live rail and highway environment.
·Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
·Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and environmental standards.
·Lead daily site briefings and ensure the team adheres to planned work schedules.
·Work closely with planners, engineers, and commercial teams to manage programme, cost control, and reporting.
·Plan and manage activities within confined spaces (bearing shelves), ensuring proper risk assessments and controls are in place.
·Liaise with rail and highway authorities to secure access and coordinate works around possessions and road closures.
·Ensure all site documentation is maintained and HSEQ standards are upheld.
Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent on civil engineering projects, ideally involving bridge or bearing replacement.
·Strong background in both rail and highways infrastructure.
·Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field).
·Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) - essential.
·Valid Highways Passport - essential.
·Confined Space Training - preferred.
·SMSTS certification.
·Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
·Flexibility for night and weekend shifts as required by rail possession windows.
