HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As a supported trainee in STERIS Instrument Processing, you will receive 12 weeks of full-time training followed by permanent full-time shift work. You will be responsible for the preparation of sterile consumables, assembly and packing of theatre instruments, and operating and monitoring cleaning and sterilisation equipment.

Working Pattern
12 weeks of full-time training Monday‑Friday 8:00‑16:00. Then permanent shift, Tuesday‑Friday 7:00‑15:00 and Saturday 12:00‑20:00.
What's Involved
* Ensure effective preparation of sterile consumables by decontamination, inspection, assembly, and packing within quality standards.
* Check, wash, lay up, and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications.
* Safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic, sterilisers).
* Record and log repairs and missing instruments on the SynergyTrak system.
* Return repaired instruments to stock or appropriate coded sets.
Required Experience
* Good general education with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
* Basic end‑user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT system.
Preferred Experience
* TVQ or NVQ Level 2 in Decontamination or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience in Sterile Services and/or health‑related products.
