Overview
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, ICT is looking to recruit a suitably qualified ICT engineer to support delivery across the ICT Technology Modernisation Programme.
This role requires candidates with experience working within the field of ICT. The post holder will be required to carry out planned work such as device builds and respond to ad-hoc issues. Technical support will be provided to customers in person and using remote diagnostic tools. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team to meet deadlines. Applicants must have a flexible approach and be willing to travel to different sites within the borough; own transport preferred.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned work such as device builds
* Respond to ad-hoc ICT issues as they arise
* Provide technical support to customers in person and via remote diagnostic tools
* Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience and technical knowledge of supporting Windows 11
* Interest in preparing, packaging and distributing software applications for installation
* Knowledge and experience supporting laptop and desktop hardware
* Basic understanding of SCCM, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Intune
* Experience of supporting a wide range of desktop applications within a corporate environment
* Excellent all-round communication skills, written, oral and presentation
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive on-time delivery of tasks
Working Arrangements
The Council operates a hybrid working model. The post holder must be willing to travel to different Council offices within the borough as required.
