Offer description

We are looking to recruit 9 Senior Craft Employees within Sandwell MBC. You will: Act as a liaison with other departments, particularly managers in housing services, so that customers’ have a joined-up and positive customer experience. Support and or provide the response to complaints, including Members and MPs enquiries, taking a proactive approach to resolving issues fairly and in line with agreed policy. To manage and produce an excellent high quality, customer focused Repairs service that is efficiently run for SMBC repairs housing stock and its tenants. Including the management and day to day performance for Damp & Mould works in line with Awaab’s Law, the management of Housing disrepairs jobs (HDR’s) including the monitoring and link with both internal and external legal teams. To offer comprehensive Repairs advice, prevention of delays to service, collaborative working with other bodies such as but not limited to, Housing management, Capital teams, Urban Design, tenant contact Centre, the housing hub, tenants, emergency services, MP’s, Councillor’s, Senior and executive management, The emergency services, contractors, training providers and suppliers. Essential: Experience of working to health and safety standards in the workplace and in on-site locations. Knowledge of current issues affecting council, social and private sector housing Legislation around Awaab’s Law specifically to Damp & Mould works. Willing to undertake further technical and/or management training as required to comply with relevant legislations. Deliver a qualitive customer service based on a thorough knowledge of needs. Understand clearly defined standards and ensure these are cascaded to employees who they manage. Pro-actively assess current customer service provision and seek to ensure changes are put in place to address gaps identified. You must hold a Trades qualification NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
