Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse/Prescriber to join our newly formed Child Development Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will have skills and knowledge in the assessment of children and young people supporting a diagnostic framework. In addition, they will have experience working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality interventions and expert nursing care, advice, and support to children, young people, and their families.
You must be an NMC Registered Nurse, an Independent Nurse Prescriber (or willing to work towards it), and possess a sound knowledge of child and adolescent development. You will work alongside various professionals, managing pharmacological interventions as a nurse prescriber. You will be expected to manage your caseload effectively to enhance the experience for children, young people, and families.
Support and training opportunities will be provided to ensure high-quality interventions and individual development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of an effective team, providing flexible and comprehensive assessments and treatment, including medication management and autonomous prescribing within hospital and community settings across North Derbyshire. The role involves autonomous assessment of children and young people referred with potential neurodevelopmental disorders.
