Salary: £89–£100 per day
Are you passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing and helping them overcome challenges to reach their full potential? We are seeking a caring and dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join a specialist SEN school in the Forest of Dean. This rewarding role focuses on supporting children and young people aged 5–16 with their social, emotional, and mental health needs, enabling them to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.
As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will join a supportive and collaborative school team, with access to training and professional development opportunities designed to help you make a meaningful and lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities of a Pastoral Support Worker:
* Provide emotional, social, and wellbeing support tailored to individual students.
* Work closely with teachers, families, and external agencies (such as CAMHS) to ensure pupils receive the right support.
* Help young people overcome barriers to learning, including attendance, relationships, and behaviour.
* Deliver 1:1 and small group sessions that build confidence, resilience, and positive choices.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students.
What We’re Looking for as a Pastoral Support Worker:
* Experience supporting children or young people in a pastoral, mentoring, counselling, or similar role.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and positive relationships.
* A calm, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
* Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
