Description
The Families & Singles Service was established to assist applicants threatened with homelessness or already homeless to maintain their current accommodation or secure suitable private rented housing. The service collaborates with partners to enhance resilience and housing sustainment under Enfield’s Early Help strategy.
The Homeless Families & Singles team provides expert advice and works closely with partners to prevent or delay homelessness, aiming to reduce reliance on temporary accommodation or street homelessness.
The Homeless Housing Coordinator, working within the Families or Singles team, will collaborate with courts, solicitors, and Enfield’s legal department to prevent homelessness.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Expert knowledge of welfare, homelessness reduction act, housing and homelessness policy, case law, legislation, and practice.
* Experience with courts, possession orders, and evictions.
* Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service to homeless applicants and key partners.
* Deliver specialist homelessness casework in accordance with legislation, policies, and strategies, with supervision, advice, guidance, and support.
* Utilize homelessness prevention tools effectively and collaborate with partners to improve outcomes for threatened or homeless applicants.
* Embed safeguarding best practices across the Housing Advisory Service.
* Assist in reducing households in temporary accommodation by challenging landlords and court possession orders.
