Contractual hours: 2 hours per week, Monday 6:00 - 8:00 pm | Location: Cimla Community Centre, Afan Valley Road, Neath SA11 3AZ

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with young people and colleagues to deliver a range of activities at the youth club. You will need to be highly motivated, organized, and have the skill to develop activities in a fun and safe environment that involves young people at all levels. No experience is required at this stage; however, the successful candidate will be required to complete the relevant youth work qualification within two years of starting. Upon qualification, registration with the Education Workforce Council will be required.

Main duties of the post:

* Deliver projects and activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health, and Welsh, including DoE and youth forums.
* Support young people to be involved in the design, delivery, and evaluation of services and activities at the youth club.
* Ensure adherence to local authority policies on safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
* Report any concerns regarding grievances, complaints, incidents, accidents, or safeguarding issues to the Worker in Charge.
* Complete all relevant paperwork according to local authority procedures and policies.
* Attend three pre-term meetings per year.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge in Youth and Community Work through training, including three per term training events.
* Deliver projects and activities that broaden horizons and promote community cohesion.
* Attend annual Employment Development Reviews and identify training and development needs.

Experience required:

Working with young people aged 11-24 in various settings.

Ideally, you will have:

* Knowledge of the purposes and principles of the youth work curriculum statement for Wales.
* The relevant national youth work qualification required for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
* Registration with the EWC before employment begins is mandatory; when the qualification is achieved, registration will be required.
