The Role:
What You’ll Be Doing
As Head of Performance & Sports Science, you’ll be central to the physical preparation and performance optimisation of the First Team. Your work will include:
* Leading warm‑ups, activation, and physical training components
* Delivering gym‑based strength & conditioning sessions
* Supporting matchday preparation and recovery
* Monitoring training loads and GPS data
* Working closely with medical staff on injury prevention and rehabilitation
* Designing periodised training programmes
* Providing performance insights to coaches and senior leadership
* Helping shape a positive, high‑performance culture
This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where no two days look the same, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic football environment.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
* A degree in Sport Science, S&C, or a related field
* Experience in a sporting environment (football experience is a bonus)
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* A willingness to learn, adapt, and grow
* Confidence working with performance data and GPS systems
* The flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays

Salary & Details
* Salary: £26,500 per annum
* Contract: Full‑time, permanent
* Locations: Victoria Park (Hartlepool), Maiden Castle (Durham University), and other club facilities
