We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic team at our Children's Residential Care Home. In this role, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day care and support to children and young people in our care, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will take on a leadership role, supporting the junior staff members, helping to guide their practice, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and other team members to deliver individualized care plans, promote the well-being of children, and support them in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership & Team Support:
* Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, support, and encouragement in their roles.
* Ensure that all staff adhere to policies, procedures, and the regulations set out by governing bodies.
* Assist with training and development of staff members and support them to deliver high-quality care.
* Lead by example and demonstrate best practice in supporting children and young people.
* Child & Young Person Care:
* Provide individualized care and support for children with diverse needs, including emotional, social, and developmental requirements.
* Create and implement person-centered care plans with a focus on empowering children and promoting their well-being.
* Assist children with day-to-day activities, including personal care, education, leisure, and social development.
* Support children with challenging behaviors in a therapeutic and constructive manner.
* Ensure the emotional, physical, and psychological needs of each child are met.
* Health & Safety:
* Promote and maintain a safe and secure living environment for children, adhering to health and safety guidelines and safeguarding protocols.
* Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe practices to protect both children and staff.
* Support the administration of medication in line with company policies and procedures.
* Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming home environment.
* Administrative & Record Keeping:
* Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes.
* Support the preparation of reports for external agencies, such as social workers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
* Monitor and track children's progress against their care plans and contribute to review meetings.
* Partnership Working:
* Work collaboratively with other professionals such as social workers, educational staff, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
* Advocate for the needs and rights of the children and ensure their voices are heard in all decision-making processes.
* Liaise with families where appropriate, maintaining open and professional communication.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Essential:
* Experience working in a children's residential care setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent (or willingness to work towards it).
* Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the regulatory framework for children's homes.
* Strong leadership skills and ability to support and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviors and create a positive, therapeutic environment.

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year

Experience:

* Residential Childcare: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

* Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) (required)
* Driving Licence (required)

* United Kingdom (required)
