The community dental services in Cardiff and Vale provide dental care for patient groups in accordance with WHC/2022/022. The role of the community dental services is to treat a wide range of patients, supervise Dental Core Trainees Years 1 and 2, and support the Welsh Government oral health improvement initiative, "Designed to Smile".


Responsibilities:

* Provide high‑quality clinical care to adults or children in line with WHC/2022/22.
* Supervise Dental Core Trainees Years 1 and 2.
* Lead the Welsh Government oral health improvement initiative, "Designed to Smile", and epidemiology surveys.
* Deliver care across multiple sites, including fixed clinics, mobile dental units and domiciliary care.

To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or a Skilled Worker visa, unless they have permission to work via another route. Non‑UK/RoI candidates wishing to apply should self‑assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship.


Qualifications:

* Previous Community Dental experience is desirable.
* Dentists who have previously worked in similar roles including hospital dental services and general dental practice are welcome to apply.


Skills and Requirements:

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Flexible approach towards work.
* A driving licence is essential, as the post holder may need to travel between fixed clinics, mobile units or provide domiciliary care.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic, inspiring and dedicated clinician to bring enthusiasm and innovation to our Community Dental Service. The role is a permanent post for 15 hours per week, requiring work across various sites dependent on service needs. Development of personal professional interests that match those of the Community Dental Service will be encouraged.
