Description
Coordinate designated study programme delivery activities for the College, including delivery of high-quality teaching, managing day-to-day operational issues, exams, and timetabling, ensuring consistency across sites if required. Inspire and motivate students through outstanding teaching that challenges them to excel.
Lecturers should be passionate about their subject and enthusiastic about developing students' English, Maths, and employability skills. Regular target setting and progress monitoring are essential to ensure successful outcomes. Experience and qualifications in teaching Business and Travel & Tourism, with a strong background in Further Education, are preferred. This role is available as both full-time and part-time.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
* Deliver high-quality teaching according to College standards, prepare teaching materials, develop curricula, and assess student progress, including maintaining records and liaising with parents and agencies. Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety policies.
* Manage course administration, including communication, problem-solving, timetable adjustments, arranging cover, coordinating work experience, and internal verification, ensuring compliance across sites.
* Assist with recruitment, enrolment, and induction processes, ensuring students are correctly registered and supported through their induction.
* Hold regular meetings with students to set and review SMART targets, support UCAS applications, and address pastoral and academic needs, collaborating with college services.
* Monitor attendance and results, report on progress, and implement action plans as needed.
* Promote English and Maths support, monitor attendance, and facilitate student movement to these classes.
* Participate in meetings, parent evenings, marketing events, and college committees, and coordinate parent consultations.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop courses and training materials, participate in CPD, and mentor new staff.
* Assist with departmental administration, including attendance tracking, reporting, and resource management.
* Engage in quality assurance activities, including moderation, course reviews, and self-assessment, and support curriculum development.
