1. Community Engagement
2. Planning and Development
3. Refurbishment and Sustainability
4. Green and Blue Spaces
5. Employment, Skills, Enterprise & Wellbeing

To progress the improvement of Green and Blue Spaces, the Team around the Place workstream has been established to drive neighbourhood improvement.

The workstream exists to bring together local services, partners, and residents to create cleaner, greener, and safer neighbourhoods. By embedding community voices in decision-making and fostering collaboration, we aim to deliver responsive, preventative solutions that build pride, resilience, and opportunity for all who live, work, and play in Gleadless Valley.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer who is ready to make a tangible difference to a neighbourhood with great potential and great community. The post holder will support long term improvement, tracking outcomes, engaging with partners and communities, supporting a variety of projects on the ground. You'll work across both strategic and operational levels, connecting strategic outcomes to operational output to achieve the projects aims.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, works well in a fast-paced setting, and is passionate about making a difference. You should feel confident working with different communities and be able to manage action plans and communications activity with the support of the Project Manager and Service Manager.

This role also involves supporting local enterprise and helping the community grow by removing barriers to jobs and training. You will work with local organisations and services that help to meet local needs and help people develop useful skills.

Health and wellbeing are key parts of this role, closely connected to jobs and skills. You’ll work with other organisations to find better ways of working together and deliver positive results for the community.

Key Skills and Experience:

6. Strong organisational skills and the ability to operate within the setting of complex programmes
7. Confident managing action plans, planning meetings and coordinating comms activity
8. An understanding of regeneration and/or community-led development
9. Self-starter with strong communication and problem-solving skills
10. Ability to stay organised and adapt quickly
11. Experience operating alongside operational services would be beneficial

Why Join Us?

This role offers the opportunity to:

12. Work across disciplines – from operational delivery to strategic development
13. Develop professionally with exposure to high-impact work and senior stakeholders
14. See the results of your work through visible improvements in a community setting

If you're someone who enjoys a challenge, likes seeing progress, and wants to be part of a team making a difference — we want to hear from you.

Interviews to be held week commencing 12th January 2026
