Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 1, ADHD)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with ADHD at a welcoming and supportive primary school in the South Shore area of Blackpool (FY4), starting in September 2026.
The Role
You will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning, maintain focus, and regulate behaviour within the classroom environment. The role will involve:
* Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
* Supporting the child’s academic, social, and emotional development
* Implementing strategies to support attention, engagement, and behaviour regulation
* Building a strong, positive relationship with the pupil
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
* Promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children with ADHD or additional needs (school-based or similar setting)
* Is patient, resilient, and nurturing
* Has strong behaviour management skills
* Can adapt learning and communication styles to suit individual needs
* Is committed to supporting every child to reach their potential
* Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant – desirable but not essential)
