The Company:

They are seeking a hands-on Technical/Engineering Manager who will bring injection moulding and tooling expertise to the business. In this pivotal role, you will ensure technical solutions meet customer expectations while driving innovation and efficiency, and overseeing product design and development. This role requires a mix of design, mechanical engineering and project management skills. A background in injection moulding and tooling is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the design (CAD) team and tool room, with influence across manufacturing team leaders.
* Represent the company’s engineering capabilities to customers, providing support through design collaboration, site visits, and virtual meetings.
* Drive innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement across all engineering projects.
* Oversee product and tooling design, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with customer requirements.
* Ensure moulding and insertion engineering meets bespoke product needs, including overmoulding, insert moulding, and custom insert capabilities.
* Manage projects, timelines, and budgets while ensuring seamless collaboration between Sales and Manufacturing teams.
* Source, manage, and maintain relationships with suppliers, acting as the technical point of contact and enforcing quality standards.
* Take ownership of all manufacturing equipment, including development, investment, and maintenance planning.
The Person:
* 10+ years’ experience in an engineering role, with at least 5 years in injection moulding and tooling.
* Degree in engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.
* Proven expertise in product design, CAD, and technical drawings.
* Strong project management skills with experience coordinating timelines and budgets.
* Supplier management experience with a focus on quality and specification adherence.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide teams and liaise with customers and suppliers.
* Strong problem-solving mindset, commercial awareness, and ability to thrive under pressure.
