THE BUSINESS
The company is a forward-thinking business offering long-term job stability within a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of an experienced team, supporting the preparation and fabrication of sheet metal materials to high standards of accuracy, quality, and safety.
THE ROLE
You will be working as a Sheet Metal Operative, supporting production and fabrication activity. Some of your tasks will include:
7. Operating guillotine and brake press machinery
8. Operating saws, threaders, power tools, grinders, and hand tools
9. Marking out and preparing sheet steel for fabrication
10. Preparing jobs and materials ready for fabricators
11. Working with mild steel ranging from 3mm to 5mm thickness
12. Carrying out measuring, marking out, and drilling activities
13. Working accurately to engineering drawings and specifications
14. Maintaining quality standards and safe working practices
THE PERSON
The business is looking for someone with previous experience working within a sheet metal or fabrication department. However, if you have the following skills and experience it would help your application:
15. Knowledge and experience of operating guillotines and brake presses
16. Competence in the use of power tools, grinders, and hand tools
17. Ability to accurately measure and mark out materials
18. Experience working to tight tolerances of ±1mm
19. Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
20. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
