This is a standalone role offering broad responsibility across financial management, statutory compliance, and business reporting, working closely with the directors to support the continued success of the organisation. Reporting directly to the directors, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day finance operations while ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are met. The role would suit an experienced accountant who enjoys working within an SME environment and taking responsibility for the full finance cycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the company's finance function
* Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for the directors
* Monitor cash flow and provide regular forecasting and analysis
* Maintain the general ledger and oversee all accounting records
* Manage sales ledger, purchase ledger and banking activities
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure ongoing HMRC compliance
* Process payroll and associated statutory reporting requirements
* Coordinate year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external accountants
* Ensure compliance with all financial, tax and statutory obligations
* Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities
* Provide financial insight and analysis to assist commercial decision-making
Candidate Profile
* Previous experience managing a finance function within an SME environment
* Strong understanding of financial reporting and statutory compliance requirements
* Experience preparing management accounts and cash flow forecasts
* Knowledge of VAT, payroll and HMRC reporting obligations
* Comfortable working independently and managing multiple responsibilities
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Salary: £45,000 Pro rata
