Corporate Governance Manager – Canterbury, Kent
Fresh People are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, PE backed chartered accountancy and advisory firm looking to appoint a Corporate Governance Manager to join their dedicated Corporate Governance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced company secretarial, corporate governance or corporate law professional who is looking to step into a responsible, client-facing role within a progressive and expanding professional services firm.
The firm has a clear strategy to scale across the South East and London. This creates a strong opportunity for the right individual to join at a pivotal stage and play an important role in delivering high-quality governance and company secretarial services to a broad corporate client base.
This is not an administration role. The position requires relevant corporate governance, company secretarial or corporate law experience, ideally supported by CGI qualification.
The Role
As Corporate Governance Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients while supporting the wider department with a broad range of corporate governance and company secretarial duties.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of corporate clients and LLPs
* Arranging formations of companies and LLPs
* Assisting with company reorganisations
* Maintaining statutory records
* Preparing and submitting Confirmation Statements and other Companies House forms
* Preparing minutes, written resolutions and board documentation
* Undertaking Companies House searches
* Providing day-to-day company secretarial services including officer appointments, resignations, registered office changes and accounting reference date changes
* Supporting the department manager with workload, client matters and team development
* Supervising and mentoring trainee company secretaries
* Working closely with senior management, Partners and clients
The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated, diligent and experienced corporate governance professional who can work confidently with clients and senior stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
* CGI qualification or relevant company secretarial / corporate governance experience
* Previous experience in a corporate governance, company secretarial, corporate law or compliance role
* Strong knowledge of Companies House processes and statutory filings
* Experience preparing minutes, resolutions and maintaining statutory records
* Strong corporate administration skills
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Experience using Diligent Entities would be advantageous
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines
* A flexible, diplomatic and solutions-focused approach
* Ability to supervise or support junior members of the team
