A senior Frontend Engineer is required to build world-class, high-performance web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, GraphQL, Sanity, Sentry, Playwright, Vercel, and Google Cloud Platform within an innovative Norwegian technology scale-up that produces world-leading tablets, expanding its London team. This role will shape engaging, user-centric digital experiences across a modern, cloud-native ecosystem, influence Front End architecture and tooling decisions, and play a key part in strengthening engineering excellence within a collaborative, product-led environment.
Hybrid role based in London Paddington two days per week, with occasional travel to Norway.
Key skills required for the Senior Frontend Engineer
* At least commercial experience in modern web development
* Strong hands-on experience with the majority of React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, and GraphQL within medium-to-large codebases
* Experience building scalable, data-driven interfaces that integrate and manipulate information from multiple sources
* Solid understanding of performance optimisation, observability, and Front End architecture
* Experience working within agile, cross-functional product teams alongside UX/UI Designers, Product Managers, and QA/Test Automation Engineers
* A strong user experience mindset with a passion for intuitive, high-quality digital products
* Experience contributing to design systems and hybrid applications (desirable)
* Eligibility to work in the UK (Indefinite Leave to Remain or British Citizenship required)
What you'll do as a Senior Frontend Engineer
* Contribute to pioneering new customer experiences from concept through to delivery within cross-functional agile teams
* Working on projects like web apps, enterprise and account management, Payments/account management, 3rd party integrations, Sales funnels
* Maintain and evolve existing web applications across a modern cloud-based architecture
* Optimise and enhance applications built using Next.js, React, Tailwind, Sanity, and GraphQL
* Improve observability and performance profiling using tools such as Sentry and platform monitoring solutions
* Write clean, scalable, well-tested code with a strong focus on automated testing and stability
* Promote knowledge sharing through peer code reviews, proactive documentation, and internal forums
* Influence Front End best practices, tooling decisions, and architectural discussions
* Play a key role in advancing the organisation's Front End discipline and engineering culture
