Brief Description
From establishing safety arrangements to checking the quality of work, you will direct and inspire the success of a team involved in everything from inspection and faulting to maintenance and renewal.
Please note: Railway experience is essential.
About The Role
You will direct, organise and motivate a high‑performing team through inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal. Your focus will be on efficiency, high standards and safety. You will ensure safe systems of work are followed, quality is controlled, and assets remain fully compliant. You will also compile a range of vital reports.
Essential Criteria
* Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
* Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
* Knowledge of discipline‑specific maintenance, inspection, faulting and renewal techniques
* Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions
* A clear and inspirational leader with a strong sense of direction
* Hold Safety Critical Competencies COSS, CRP and PC
* Hold Tr04 and Tr11 Competence Track Geometry and Handback
Desirable Criteria
* Hold or be working towards NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or have equivalent knowledge through experience
* Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need; may include driving vehicles up to 7.5t and upgrading driving licence
* Hold Safety Critical Competencies Strapping, NSCD (Ops) and Engineering Supervisor
Additional Experience
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in undertaking maintenance tasks including S&C replacement and renewal
