We are looking for a passionate Children’s Support Worker at an undisclosed Lifehouse house in Birmingham. You will be organising, leading, and developing children’s programmes in accordance with families who have fled domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities: The role of Children’s Support Worker with The Salvation Army is an inspirational one and key to achieving successful outcomes for clients. As a motivated and dynamic Children’s Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality programme of support to families which promotes client choice and control. You will address clients support needs, enable them to make positive life choices and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
1. Motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes
2. Good customer service and time management skills with ability to prioritise workload
3. Improve standards by demonstrating own initiative towards problem solving which help benefit colleagues and clients
4. Able to plan and lead therapeutic children’s activities
5. Experience of working with children in a registered setting desirable
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
7. Proficient in range of IT Packages including Microsoft
8. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a culture of continuous improvement within the service and evidence of commitment to continuous professional development
9. Understand a personal value base which is in line with core values of the organisation and able to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
10. Demonstrate values of integrity and accountability within working practice
11. Work shifts, unsociable hours, weekend work - flexible approach to hours worked as required
