Our client, a leading Carbon and Energy Consultancy, is looking for a Senior Energy Consultant to join their growing team. As the Senior Energy Consultant, you will take the lead on delivering energy-focused projects such as audits, efficiency strategies, compliance support, and decarbonisation planning. You’ll partner closely with clients to uncover opportunities for energy savings, carbon reduction, and operational improvements, while also guiding junior colleagues and supporting business development initiatives. Key responsibilities of the Senior Energy Consultant:
1. Lead consultancy projects, including site audits, energy assessments, and strategic planning.
2. Develop and implement energy efficiency and decarbonisation strategies for buildings, estates, and industrial operations.
3. Support clients with regulatory compliance (e.g., ESOS, SECR, ISO 50001) and voluntary initiatives.
4. Analyse energy data and identify opportunities for cost and carbon savings.
5. Prepare clear, insightful reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
6. Contribute to proposals, tenders, and client engagement activities.
7. Mentor junior consultants and support their technical development.
8. Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and policy developments.
Skills and experience required for the Senior Energy Consultant:
9. Minimum 3 years’ experience in energy consultancy or a related field.
10. Energy audits, efficiency strategies, compliance support, and decarbonisation experience
11. Strong technical understanding of energy systems, building services, and energy management.
12. Proven experience delivering client-facing energy projects.
13. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
14. Proficiency in energy modelling tools and data analysis
15. Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Desirable
16. ESOS Lead Assessor Status or working towards
17. Chartered status or working towards (e.g., CEng, MEI, CEnv).
18. Experience with renewable energy technologies, heat decarbonisation or previous phases of ESOS
19. Familiarity with carbon accounting and net zero strategy development.
