Hours: 30 - 37.5 hours (negotiable based on skills and experience)

Role: Head of Performance (Weightlifting)
The role requires occasional weekend travel and overnight stays to support Camps and Squads.
Main Purpose of the Job
* Lead the Sport Science and Medicine Team: provide leadership and line management, work closely with the Head of Performance and People Development Lead to ensure staff development and high-quality performance services.
* Develop BWL’s Athlete Health and Wellbeing strategy: support athlete physical and mental health, providing high-quality, evidence-informed services for athletes across programs.
* High-Quality Coaching: coordinate rehabilitation and accessory sessions, maximize athlete development outcomes.
* Foster an Optimal Athlete Experience: create a high-quality, person-centered environment prioritizing long-term athlete development.
* Facilitate Continuous Improvement: use feedback to improve athlete support and coaching methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure operational plans align with strategic objectives, managing budgets and supporting organizational functions.
* Lead the Sport Science and Medicine Team, ensuring services align with athlete development goals and BWL's WITTW Model.
* Lead athlete case conferences, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate physiotherapy during training camps and competitions.
* Develop and implement athlete health and wellbeing strategies, including screening, profiling, injury surveillance, and risk mitigation.
* Contribute to research and development projects to benefit athlete health and performance.
* Provide individualized strength, conditioning, and rehabilitation coaching, monitoring athlete progress and adapting strategies.
* Work with UK Sport and TASS to ensure services meet sport-specific standards.
* Lead the team to foster a positive athlete experience and continuous improvement through feedback.
* Build professional relationships with stakeholders, acting as a role model and demonstrating professionalism and integrity.
Person Specification
Minimum requirements include eligibility to work in the UK, relevant qualifications, and experience in elite sport rehabilitation and strength & conditioning. Desirable qualifications include postgraduate degrees and specific certifications.
