Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Process Operative at our Minsterley site within the Muller Yogurts and Desserts business unit. The role's purpose is to operate and manage the designated plant, achieve daily operational targets, and maintain GMP standards within the process department.
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Minsterley (Shrewsbury)
Shifts: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts (days and nights, 6-6)
Salary: £31,079 per annum plus 1x5 overtime rate
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver the daily production plan.
2. Operate plant/equipment and perform routine basic maintenance.
3. Achieve daily KPI targets.
4. Collaborate with Key Operators to carry out start-up procedures, ensuring good manufacturing practices, housekeeping, hygiene, and health and safety standards throughout production.
5. Ensure effective handovers between shifts, remaining on line until relief takes over.
6. Monitor product quality, identify non-conformance, and take corrective actions.
7. Ensure SIC and Quality information are accurate, complete, and timely.
8. Complete and maintain all documentation properly.
9. Train operators to ensure competence in their roles.
10. Lead by example, promoting appropriate behavioral standards aligned with company values and culture.
11. Comply with food safety requirements, control CCPs, and adhere to site quality procedures.
12. Maintain GMP standards in the line/area, seeking continuous improvement.
13. Take reasonable care for health, safety, and welfare of oneself and others.
14. Perform any other duties within skills and abilities as reasonably instructed.
15. Promote and comply with all company policies, procedures, and values.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Proven mechanical aptitude.
2. Experience with machinery in a fast-moving production environment is desirable.
3. Focus on first-time quality to minimize waste.
4. Experience in controlling material losses.
5. Adherence to GMP standards.
6. Experience with H&S statistics (e.g., accidents, near misses).
7. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
8. Flexible, adaptable to changing production plans.
9. Good listening and communication skills.
10. Ability to demonstrate initiative and prioritize tasks effectively.
