Physiotherapist

We are looking for an autonomous physiotherapist to deliver high‑standard assessment, treatment, and intervention across a 4‑month rotational scheme covering: Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Orthopaedics, Elderly Rehabilitation, Acute and General Medicine, Respiratory (including ICU), Surgery, Acute and Rehab Neurology. The role requires managing your own caseload, maintaining comprehensive records, supervising physiotherapy assistants, and engaging in multidisciplinary teamwork.
Main duties
* Provide assessment and treatment to patients within a designated caseload.
* Use clinical reasoning and evidence‑based practice to develop and deliver individual physiotherapy programmes and discharge plans.
* Attend multidisciplinary meetings, family meetings, board rounds and ensure physiotherapy management is integrated into MDT plans.
* Advise, guide and teach physiotherapy assistants and support quality improvement and CPD.
* Maintain accurate written records and provide discharge information to referring clinicians.
* Participate in on‑call and weekend rotas as required and support the smooth running of the physiotherapy department.
* Lead weekly in‑service training or educational sessions for staff and students.
* Undertake an evidence‑based project each rotation to advance clinical practice.
* Contribute to clinical effectiveness, audit programmes, and competency activities (CPD, student supervision).
* Ensure safe working environments, manage clinical risk, and comply with Trust systems (EPR, PIMS).
* Attend staff meetings, supervision and performance assessments as required.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* MCSP qualification
Knowledge and Experience
* Wide ranging student experience, including respiratory, musculoskeletal and neuro rehabilitation.
* Proficiency in IT, including keyboard and word processing.
Skills and Competencies
* Efficient caseload management
* Patient‑centred approach in clinical work
* Accurate patient record keeping
* Effective communication with patients who have communication difficulties
* Judgement to establish appropriate physiotherapy programmes across diverse clinical areas
