Overview:
Dunbia Dungannon are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager for our Dungannon Primary, Retail & Hides production facility with responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety on site. Working strategically with our site management team and the wider Group HSE teams you will be a key member of an ambitious, innovative division of the business, driving the Health & Safety agenda with a focus on integration, compliance and culture, while providing support and guidance for managers and colleagues on a wide range of H&S matters.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be based at our Dungannon facility and will be responsible for:
* Developing, implementing, and delivering on H&S objectives & improvement plans in conjunction with Site Operations Team and Divisional H&S Manager;
* Support site supervisors with the investigation of H&S incidents/accidents at the site. Where necessary, leading the investigation process and/or collaborating with senior management on serious incidents;
* Carry out and complete general and specialist risk assessments such as Manual Handling, Machinery Safety, DSE to ensure that risks are reduced to meet commercial and legislative requirements.
* Partnering with relevant stakeholders such as Human Resources, Food Safety & Quality, Engineering and Operations departments with regards to H&S issues/concerns and address in a timely manner;
* Identifying site H&S training needs and deliver training sessions for employees and management as required;
* Liaising with relevant authorities and bodies such as the Health & Safety Authority etc as necessary;
* Ensuring all employees, contractors, third parties and visitors are compliant with H&S requirements of the site; Actively assists in the monitoring of contractors on site and the control of the permit to work systems.
* Conducting internal audits and ensuring the site is audit ready at all times.
* Provide strong leadership, support and guidance to the Health & Safety Team
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have or demonstrate:
* Detailed knowledge of H&S Legislation; (essential)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; (essential)
* Experience of managing ISO Standards and leading on Audits (14001, 45001, SMETA and Ethical Trading Standards (essential)
* Experience of managing people (essential)
* A relevant third level qualification & NEBOSH Certificate (essential)
* Previous experience in the food manufacturing sector (desirable)
* Current member of IOSH or working towards Membership (desirable)
