We are looking for a finalist or a newly qualified Accountant to join our Record to Report Finance team on a permanent basis. The role will be based at the Merlin Finance Hub in Basingstoke, working 3 days on-site as a minimum.
Join our team to ensuring timely and accurate financial control, accounting, and reporting activities in alignment with company policies. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to facilitate the financial reporting process. Drive best practices, process efficiencies, and standardisation through continuous improvement using Visual Management methodology and tools.
You will establish and nurture robust relationships with internal and external business stakeholders, as well as upholding financial controls and systems, and suggesting operational enhancements. You will ensure timely completion of tasks in accordance with accounting policies, and take ownership of balance sheet accounts, conducting regular reviews with Finance hub managers.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working in a shared services role, preferably within a similar operating model and size of organisation
* Part-qualified finalist/newly qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with considerable experience within a finance role
* Experience of Month End close process
* Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes
* Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
* Proactive, with experience of working in a flexible and changing environment
* Communication skills necessary to coordinate month end close across multiple functions
* Attention to detail with a proactive approach to obtaining appropriate supporting evidence
* Coordination with divisional finance organisations to highlight/resolve issues
* Confident to engage and challenge senior stakeholders on change, process, and policies
