About the Role We are working with a respected care provider seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead their specialist nursing home for adults with learning disabilities in Colchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and driven professional to take full responsibility for the management of the home, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care in line with CQC regulations. The Registered Manager will oversee both the nursing and care teams, ensuring high standards of practice, staff development, and excellent outcomes for residents with complex needs. Key Responsibilities Provide strong, inspirational leadership to nursing, care, and support staff. Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding legislation, and clinical governance frameworks. Oversee day-to-day management of the home, including staffing, budgets, and resources. Develop, implement, and review individualised care and support plans, promoting independence and dignity. Monitor and improve standards of nursing practice, ensuring safe administration of medication and clinical procedures. Conduct audits, reviews, and quality assurance processes to maintain outstanding care delivery. Work closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and local authorities to deliver positive outcomes. Recruit, train, and develop staff teams, building a culture of compassion and accountability. Lead on safeguarding, incident reporting, and CQC notifications. Drive continuous improvement and service development initiatives. Requirements Previous experience as a Registered Manager (or Deputy Manager ready to step up) in a learning disabilities or nursing home setting. Strong understanding of nursing care for people with learning disabilities and associated complex needs. In-depth knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, and clinical governance. Proven leadership and staff management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care (or working towards). Nursing qualification (RGN/RMN/RNLD) desirable but not essential if significant experience is demonstrated. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
