We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer(Building Services) to join our Energy and Special Interest Projects team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. (Other locations across the UK will also be considered for the right candidate.)
What does the role involve?
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, leading and supporting delivery of a wide variety of schemes spanning RIBA Work Stages 2-7, including energy infrastructure, commercial, industrial, leisure, and remote projects like the British Antarctic Survey Infrastructure Modernisation Programme.
Consideration will be given to Senior and Principal Engineer levels.
Duties include:
* Detail design and specification of LV electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, cabling, and control equipment.
* Specify switchgear, transformers, and associated cabling and control equipment.
* Prepare feasibility and concept design studies.
* Produce design documentation, specifications, drawings, and calculations, ensuring quality and timeliness.
* Develop client and supplier relationships.
* Attend design and site meetings, manage workload.
* Mentor engineers, review work.
* Business development and work winning.
* Perform job management responsibilities.
* Collaborate with delivery teams and project managers for successful project completion.
To be successful, you’ll need:
* A degree in Building Services Engineering or related field.
* Professional qualification with CIBSE or IET (or working towards).
* Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Clash Detection, Dialux, Amtech.
* Experience in a similar role with project management skills.
* Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
* Problem-solving skills for client and team collaboration.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Understanding of ISO 19650 and information management standards.
* HV Design experience is advantageous.
* Knowledge of UK construction regulations and standards.
