An exciting opportunity to gain a fully funded qualification and step into the rewarding world of Midwifery. Although this position is a 24-month fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will begin when the candidate starts in the role, and may be slightly shorter than 24 months after pre-employment checks.
This is a fully funded postgraduate diploma in Midwifery (Mid-point band 5 salary).
Train as a midwife with a fully funded two-year postgraduate diploma, in partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU) and Whipps Cross University Hospital. You will earn a band 5 salary, gain hands-on experience, and have your tuition fees (£9,535/year) fully covered. This full-time, 2-year programme is 50% clinical placement at Whipps Cross Hospital and 50% academic study at LSBU. It prepares registered Adult Nurses (NMC Level 1) to become autonomous, confident Midwives. Minimum requirements include:
* To attain a registered midwifery qualification.
* Effective communication with women and their families, providing high-quality Midwifery care throughout preconception, antenatal, intra-partum, and postnatal periods under supervision.
* Ability to diagnose pregnancy, assess, and monitor women holistically using various assessment methods, reaching valid conclusions under supervision.
* Work towards achieving midwifery standards of proficiency as set out in the Midwifery ongoing record of achievement.
* Determine and provide programmes of care and support for women, including seamless care and interventions during the antenatal period in partnership with women and other care providers.
Qualifications and experience required:
* NMC registered Adult Nurse
* UK Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:2) or DipHE with Level 6 study
* 6+ months UK clinical experience
* Meet IELTS (7.0 overall) or OET (Grade B) requirements; alternatives accepted per NMC guidance
