The Role
SALARY: Starting from £35,000 per annum (Skills and experience dependent)
REPORTS TO: Senior Technical Manager
LOCATION: Edinburgh
As a junior GIS analyst, typical responsibilities will involve supporting GIS and senior GIS analysts in coordinating data collection and storage for multiple renewable energy projects as well as map production and data deliverables.
The successful candidate will work with the Senior Technical Manager and the existing GIS team to contribute to delivering the day-to-day requirements of the business as well as improve how we deliver projects and identify opportunities for automation and innovation of how we share information to our development colleagues.
This is an enormously exciting opportunity to join a high growth business and play a key role in its continued success while also gaining experience in the GIS field and knowledge of a range of renewable energy technologies.
Main Responsibilities
* Collect, clean and enter spatial and tabular data;
* Assist with production of high-quality maps, charts, reports and other data, deliverables for internal and external issue as well as online GIS portals;
* Perform routine data manipulation, spatial queries and simple geoprocessing tasks;
* Maintain GIS databases under supervision;
* Provide support to senior GIS team members.

Experience & Qualifications
* A qualification in GIS or relevant university degree and/or experience;
* Experience of using ArcGIS 10.x and its extensions including AcrGIS Pro and ArcGIS online or equivalents;
* Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
* Ability to automate tasks using scripting tools such as Python (desirable);
