Applications Engineer
A leading force in the world of Electrical Solutions is currently expanding and is looking for an Applications Engineer to join them in their Switchgear manufacturing team.
They’re a global business offering AC/DC solutions, transformers, substation equipment and HV infrastructure projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Technical specification and compliance: determine equipment ratings and performance requirements from tender specifications, ensure supplied equipment meets customer switchgear specifications and operational requirements (current, voltage, fault ratings), issue detailed engineering specifications for design, manufacturing and procurement teams.
* Design and coordination: design complex relay protection and substation control schemes, create internal software schemes, issue purchase order requisitions via ERP system, liaise directly with customers and commercial department on all technical contract matters.
* Training and continuous improvement: coach and train staff in technical areas, assist with manufacturing quality investigations and non-conformance reports, support continuous improvement initiatives, provide technical assistance to the test department and project implementation.
Required Experience
* Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
* Electrical Engineering background (HNC or HND ideally).
* Experience within a manufacturing environment.
Benefits
* Salary up to £42,000.
* Company bonus.
* Tiered pension: If you put in 2.5 they’ll put in 5.5, if you put in 3.5 they’ll put in 6, if you put in 4.5 they’ll put in 7.
* 26 days holiday.
