Overview

A game for all... We're on the hunt for a special talent to oversee the implementation of The FA's content strategy across our owned platforms (including apps and websites). This is your chance to join our industry-leading content team and put your stamp on some of the biggest events and brands in football.


Responsibilities

* To devise, implement and iterate a strategy to maximise usage of The FA's owned platforms, focused on user acquisition, engagement and retention.
* To collaborate with the Content Strategy unit and the Creative Content unit on ideation and planning of content, with a view on how it will be distributed across The FA's owned platforms.
* To work with other Content Managers on cross-platform distribution plans that maximise the full potential of The FA's content, both in terms of visibility and commercial value.
* To lead the day-to-day management of content deployment across The FA's owned platforms, from planning and scheduling through to uploading, optimising and analysing/reporting.
* To work closely with the Digital Technology team on the development of The FA's owned platforms, driving discussions around user experience and user interfaces to maximise content performance.
* To liaise with other departments around the role of The FA's owned platforms in supporting their objectives (e.g., promoting tickets or activating commercial partnership rights).
* To manage the development of the Content Manager - Owned Platforms, providing key line management support and aiding personal growth.
* Executes additional tasks as required to meet The FA's changing priorities.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
* As part of The FA's commitment to a safe environment, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check, with the level determined by the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.


Requirements

* Several years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of audience behaviour and how to target and drive fan consumption effectively, using data/insights to shape decision making.
* Solid understanding of content creation, app/website management and social media platforms.
* Strong levels of commercial awareness and market value.
* True passion for football and the England national team.


Experience

* Operating in a fast-paced, time-sensitive and high-performance environment.
* Adaptability to priorities shifting with changing editorial and media landscapes.
* Formal line management experience with the ability to lead and inspire.
* Collaborating as part of a creative and innovative team with different objectives.
* Working across all forms of content – written, video, audio and live.
* Managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
* Proven track record of delivering top-tier business objectives.


Technical Skills

* Strong editorial mindset – understanding what makes successful content across touchpoints.
* Attention to detail – confident as the final reviewer.
* Excellent understanding of SEO/ASO principles, performance tracking, analytic tools, content optimisation and A/B testing.
* Collaborative mindset with multiple teams across platforms.
* Accountability and ability to adapt when priorities shift.
* Experience with various CMS platforms.
* Exceptional writing, editing, subbing and technical skills to deliver content at scale.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Problem-solving abilities, both independently and in a team.
* Confidence presenting ideas and feedback to internal departments.


Beneficial to have

* Experience with media rights and agencies.
* AI tooling.
* Work in the sport and/or entertainment sector.
* Budget management.
