So, you’re a proactive, hands on person and with experience in an Optic lab looking for your next step? If you are looking for a role that will allow you to use practical skills in a team environment, then you’d be a great fit here. This Optical Lab Technician role could be perfect for you. 

As a Lab technician, you will use the latest computer-controlled equipment with an eye for detail & accuracy, allowing you to maintain high standards to maximise customer satisfaction.

Specsavers Sheerness is a busy, community‑focused optical and audiology store located on the High Street, known for its friendly and efficient team and commitment to delivering high‑quality clinical care and exceptional customer service. Conveniently situated just a short walk from Sheerness‑On‑Sea train station and multiple bus routes serving the area, the store benefits from excellent public transport links. For those travelling by car, Sheerness offers several nearby parking options, including car parks such as Beachfields, Trinity Place, and Rose Street —all within a few minutes’ walk. With modern facilities, a supportive team culture, and easy accessibility by both public transport and local parking, the Sheerness store provides an engaging and rewarding environment for professionals dedicated to helping customers see and hear better

What does the role involve?

Day-to-day, you’ll help us out by producing customer orders from scratch, interpreting optical prescriptions and drawings, correcting faults and re-assembling of glasses, carrying out testing and adjustments, prepare and maintain materials and equipment. You’ll also make sure that you are producing the highest quality assured product.  

What we’re looking for? 

* Experience of Optical blocking, glazing and tinting
* Ability to assemble spectacles
* QC and verification experience
* Previous exposure and competency with administration in an Optical lab environment
