We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Highway Technical Offiecer within our Network Management team. This is an excellent opportunity that has arisen to join Rotherham Councils' nationally recognised award-winning Highway Network Management team service.
The Network Management team is part of the Community Safety and Street Scene service, and we are passionate about what we do in the borough. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team who is looking for a challenge and to develop within this exciting opportunity.
The role of the Senior Highway Technical Officer is a varied position managing the condition survey process, Highway asset management and Winter Maintenance administration.
The successful applicant will manage a small team responsible for the Highway condition survey process ensuring that inspections are carried out on time, carrying out audits on completed inspections. You will need an eye for detail and ensure that accurate data is available for monthly PI reporting and completion of annual surveys.
As the Councils The Senior Highway Technical Officer, you will provide technical knowledge regarding the Highway condition process and be the Councils officer at regional meetings, leading on Contract administration in association with the Condition (Scrim / Scanner) surveys.
The post holder will be the administrating officer for the Council's winter maintenance weather provider and online bureau service contracts and assist in producing rotas for duty co-ordinators, supervisors and drivers and arranges the purchase of goods and services relating to Winter Service using the online e-procurement portal.
The Senior Technical Officer will provide formal and informal reports as required and handle any associated complaints within timescales. The Role will require contribution to the annual review of the Highway asset management plan, Winter service manual and associated documents.
The Council encourage and promote the development of our staff. The successful post holder will carry out performance and development reviews for the staff that they are responsible for supporting and identifying areas for progress and development.
The role is based at the Councils head office, Riverside House, but will also be required to work flexibly at other locations such as Hellaby Depot and Oaks Lane as required. There is the opportunity to work from home on occasions with prior agreement.
This post will from time to time involve travel throughout the Borough, it is therefore a requirement to possess a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
