Community Occupational Therapist (Locum)
Location: Hawick
Contract Type: Locum- Hyrbid Options Available- 2 days on site & 3 days WFH
Salary: £28-£35 per hour (depending on experience)
21HSC are seeking an experienced and motivated Community Occupational Therapist to join a team in the Scottish Borders on a locum basis. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to support individuals in achieving greater independence within their own homes and communities.
What Youll Do
* Provide holistic, person-centred occupational therapy assessments in community settings.
* Develop and implement tailored treatment and rehabilitation plans.
* Support individuals to maximise independence in daily living, self-care, and leisure activities.
* Recommend and facilitate the use of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
* Carry out risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding and safe care planning.
* Collaborate with families, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals to deliver integrated support.
* Keep accurate clinical records and provide clear, timely reports.
* Promote wellbeing, resilience, and participation in meaningful community activities.
What Were Looking For
* Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration (essential).
* Previous experience in community-based occupational therapy.
* Knowledge of the Self-Directed Support (Scotland) Act, and an understanding of adult support and protection principles.
* Strong understanding of functional assessment, equipment provision, and rehabilitation techniques.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to varied caseloads.
