Reports to: Deputy Centre Manager Salary:£23,809.50 Per annum Hours: 37.5 per week on a 6-week rolling rota basis including weekends & Bank Holidays Location: Jerry Green Dog Rescue, Warsop Lane, Mansfield, NG21 0PG

About Us:
All dogs deserve a good life and a safe, loving home. We exist to provide a safe place for dogs without a home, and to find new loving places for them to live. We currently have three operating centres in North and South Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, and also provide support and community specific initiatives across East Yorkshire. Our Central Office is located on our North Lincolnshire site, near Brigg.

Main Purpose of the Job:

* To promote the Mission, Vision, Values and Core Principles of Jerry Green Dog Rescue, taking a positive and happy approach to supporting a workplace that celebrates success and learns from mistakes. Be responsible for meeting appropriate standards of performance.
* To support the Centre Manager to fully utilise our resources, to maximise Centre productivity and deliver against the Centres Plan. To ensure that all dogs are cared for as outlined in our Dog Welfare Policies and ensure that the Centre maximises Rehoming opportunities. To exploit every opportunity presented to enable an efficient and customer friendly approach to those wishing to adopt/rescue a dog or to use our services.
* Be an Ambassador for the Charity, taking every opportunity to fundraise, build supporter relationships and make lasting friendships.
* To support the team with key elements of dog welfare including cleaning and husbandry, exercising dogs and support the housekeeping of the Nottinghamshire site.
* To educate potential new owners and the general public, in and outside the Centre, in the care and welfare of their dogs.
* To promote the Enterprise services at the Centre, where applicable, to adopters, supporters and customers at every available opportunity.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Work as directed by the Centre Manager in any area that you are suitably trained to do so.
* Work in accordance with Jerry Green Dog Rescue procedures and best practice to support the best welfare for our Boarding clients.
* Care for all dogs at the Rescue Centre, in an appropriate and welfare friendly manner, to include cleaning of kennels, grooming, feeding, enrichment, exercise and administration and recording of medication as required. Maintaining a high standard of good hygiene practices and good housekeeping across all areas of site at all times.
* Assist customers through the Meet & Match processes appropriate to the circumstances, by providing customer friendly, accurate and relevant information and advice. Approaching each dog and potential adopter as an individual. Deliver training programmes as guided by either the Supervisor and/or Centre Manager to those dogs in our care that may require additional support.
* Maintain accurate records on our dog management database, to include admission, behaviour, financial and veterinary information.
* Where required, work in Reception, supporting administration, for both the rescue centre and the enterprise services.
* Ensure the highest standards of customer care are delivered to all centre visitors and contacts, by presenting a professional and friendly approach both face to face and on the telephone.
* Be an Ambassador for the Charity exploiting fundraising opportunities at all times. To take responsibility for asking directly for support, be that for funds through our Regular Individual Giving, one-off donations, goods and services, or voluntary and supporter opportunities.
* Be able to conduct themselves in a calm and professional manner around euthanasia decisions at the Centre, demonstrating emotional resilience and supporting colleagues both paid and unpaid throughout the decision-making process.
* To positively promote the benefits of our insurance partnership, our shop goods and our Enterprise Services to add value to the customer service experience.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements, taking personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of others, reporting any concerns and incidents to the Manager or the Boarding Supervisor.
* Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
