The University of Cambridge is one of the world's oldest universities and leading academic centers, with a reputation for outstanding academic achievement that is known world-wide. The Chief Accounts Clerk will coordinate Finance administration services within the Faculty in order to contribute to the management of Faculty finances. This is a full-time role (1.0 FTE). The existing Faculty finance team of one Grade 6, three Grade 4 and one Grade 3 accounts clerks receive and check up to 5000 invoices and expenses claims and 700 UPS payment forms a year, raise up to 1,000 purchase orders and several hundred AR invoices a year, respond to queries from the full range of Faculty staff and report to budget holders for grant and non-grant account. The Grade 5 Chief Accounts Clerk would oversee and manage this activity to ensure consistent, professional service delivery and monitor all the procedures to improve and streamline the Teams processes. In addition they will support the Finance Coordinator, Deputy Finance Manager and Finance Manager by coordinating routine monthly reporting to PIs and budget holders across the Faculty and act as a key contact point for queries from budget holders and Department administrators. The successful candidate will be educated to HND/HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualification of equivalent level of practical experience.
